Songdog Rescue

What happened to this dog was a crime; unfortunately, although his owner was punished, it wasn't enough to compensate for the abuse this dog suffered from the time he was a puppy. Now an adult, he is very sweet and loving although he will probably bear the scars from his puppyhood for the rest of his life.

He is also emotionally scarred and it will take patience and love to get him to trust completely again.  He gets defensive when voices are raised in anger; if he can't hide, he will growl and moan and pace to get away.

But please note:  this dog has NEVER tried to bite anyone!

As an abuse case, we will not adopt this dog out to a family with kids even though he has been loving and sweet with the children he has come into contact with. Good with other dogs but is a little particular about some males. Housetrained, crate trained, and rides well in a vehicle. Adoption fee is tax deductible; home check will be required to verify secure containment. He also needs to go to an experienced owner.
